Carr Plantation Trail
Walking Route
A relatively long, circular route through mature forest. Good for cycling. Some historic sites along the route include the poorhouse, which was a one storey structure (c.1864), situated to the west of Blar Mòr, built to accommodate the poor of the parish.
Nearby there was a mineral well of chalybeate water (containing salts of iron) which was greatly favoured in Victorian times. Distance: 2¾ miles (4.25km) Approximate time: 2 – 2½ hours Start: Carrbridge Main Car Park Terrain: Relatively flat forest paths with one road crossing.
