The Fair Maid's House Visitor Centre
Our visitor centre is a geographical delight housed in the oldest secular building in Perth.In our Explorers' Room, there will be inspiring stories and fascinating ephemera from the likes of David Livingstone, Sir Ernest Shackleton, Robert Falcon Scott, Neil Armstrong and paralymic gold-medalist, Karen Darke. In our multi-media Earth Room, there will be hands-on opportunities to learn about geo-politics and the Earth's tectonic forces. And in our map room, there will be oodles of time to get lost in our captivating collection of cartographic treats! We also regularly host touring exhibitions of geographic interest, from adventures in The Empty Quarter to stunning photographic collections.The Fair Maid's House Visitor Centre is the perfect day out for the whole family, and everyone is welcome. The centre will be open from 7th April until 22nd October 2018, Thursday to Saturday, 13:00 - 16:30 daily. The centre is manned entirely by volunteers, so if you are planning a special journey you may wish to check in advance that it will be open.
