The Dower House
The Dower House is comfortable home that offers a quiet, welcoming and hospitable space ...and that's all by itself. Here you can relax after your journey, long or short and unwind with afternoon tea, and take in the history and ambiance of this lovely home and setting. Sit in the garden, wander the wildcat trail or just listen to the birds and watch the squirrels play. The house does have history, it was one of the earlier houses built in the village. Some notable characters have stayed here and still the sense of calmness prevails as soon as you walk through the front door. Generous breakfasts, and home baking along with the options of packed lunches evening meals by request in advance only. Also available are outdoor swimming towels, use of the bike shed, picnic hampers and distillery tours with taxi fares. Renovated through out, our quiet bedrooms rooms are all ensuite with proper showers, and lots of natural light. A shared lounge for guests and off street parking. All bedrooms in The Dower House are upstairs on the first floor with bed options from a twin/superking, and 2 double/single occupancy across the 3 bedrooms. The entrance, dining hall, shared lounge, and tweed workshop are all on the ground floor.The Calder Suite is a self contained apartment with level access throughout for less abled guests, open plan kitchen dining and lounge space with wood buring stove, spacous wet bathroom and private patio for the afternoon sun. The Calder Suite is let either as self catering or bnb, or a combination of to suit guests needs and tastes. Call us for a chat about additional support needs for less abled guests. Level access to the dining hall of the bed and breakfast, with interconnecting door.
