Newtonmore Train Station
Newtonmore Station serves the small but traditional highland village of the same name, right in the heart of the Highlands. The original station buildings were constructed of wood and destroyed in a fire in April 1893. A replacement station building in stone was erected in 1893.
Though smaller in size, the village has a lot to offer, most notably in the form of the Highland Folk Museum which displays collections of artefacts from a bygone age, right up until present day. The village is also home to the Wild Cat Trail, where walkers can spot 100+ cats, individually painted in various guises by the local residents and children, as well as the Clan Macpherson Museum, where you can learn more about Highland life through the years. Finally, a short drive from the village lies the centre of Scotland Stone for visitors to enjoy.
