Aviemore Train Station
The town of Aviemore in the Cairngorm National Park is home to the busy, late 19th century Aviemore Station. The station is made of timber and is part of a wider ‘transport hub’, where a variety of transport options are available, including taxis, buses, cycling and walking routes. While the station’s original buildings were opened in 1863, at a time during which the mainline went to inverness, via Grantown on Spey and Forres, those you can see today were then rebuilt in 1892 when the ‘direct’ line to Inverness via Slochd was being built. Those alighting at the station are often delighted to be met with uninterrupted views of Cairngorm and the Northern Corries.
